INCLYTA - BASILEA Turreted, veiled and draped bust of the city-goddess to right. Rev. PROVIDENTIA - SENATVS Two togate senators standing facing each other, holding between them the statue of Liberty, who bears a laurel branch and a pileus (cap of liberty). Ewig 754. Haller 1277. SM 1066 (this piece). Winterstein 224a. Very rare. Beautiful iridescent toning. Some marks and scratches, otherwise, very fine.
